Our family found Shayla when we moved to the Keller area in 2004. We were very lucky to have found a home center for our then two year old. Thanks to her he made the transition and was a happy little guy. We were very excited when our youngest had a spot when he reached two to join big brother. Even though big brother has since gone on to full day school our youngest is still reaping the benefits. Shayla has helped them learn everything from their ABCs & 123s to tying their shoes. After seven years she has become more than just a daycare provider. She has been with us through the joy of the birth of our other sons to the tragedy of losing one of them. Our daughter loved going to Ms. Shayla's! She started when she was 3 and even attended Kindergarten with Shayla. Shayla had her reading above a second grade level going into first grade and she knew more Spanish words than we did from her Spanish classes at Shayla's. I have known Shayla Drumm for 10 years and I will recommend her as my favorite child care provider. She is well organized with plenty of pre-designed material, including extra-curricular activities such as Spanish. She treats all children evenly, always in control, firm, and lovingly. Shayla is reliable and works with parents to solve problems with kids. Her house is clean and ample with space for kids’ activities. This is the second year that my child has been in Miss Shayla's preschool. I cannot imagine her anywhere else. Not only is she in a home enviroment, she gets daily lessons based on her age level and weekly spanish lessons. I cannot say enough positive things about Shayla Drumm and her home daycare, Academy For Kids. She had a huge impact in the early development of my two children. Not only did they learn from a strong curriculum to read and write but they learned Spanish and did Science experiments. In addition, she taught them strong morals and how to be strong independent individuals. We could not have been luckier to have her helping us with our kids.
